The Estate’s philosophy
Certified by Ecocert, the domain's soils remain free from synthetic fertilizers, ensuring the health and balance of the vines.
His winemaking philosophy extends from the vineyard to the cellar; Bruno embodies minimal intervention and a preference for older oak barrels.
The grapes undergo a gentle infusion, expressing the unique terroir shaped by a harmonious plant-soil-light relationship.
The vinification process is meticulously traditional, utilizing open-topped, conical-shaped oak vats tailored to each cuvée.
Up to 30% of whole clusters are retained, and harvested grapes are carefully cooled for a serene fermentation start.
Indigenous yeasts guide fermentations, with manual punch downs and gentle pump-overs respecting the grapes and expressing terroir nuances.
The temperatures and densities are vigilantly monitored, and the maceration period lasts approximately three weeks for the crus. Delicate pneumatic pressing and gravity transfer to barrels facilitate the natural malolactic fermentation. This slow process typically concludes in the spring following the first winter.
In conclusion, Bruno Clavelier stands as a reference for biodynamic winemaking in Burgundy. His commitment to sustainable practices, respect for terroir, and a holistic winemaking approach make Domaine Bruno Clavelier one of the most respected wineries in Burgundy.

PREMIER CRU
GRAND CRU
Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet"
The plot, facing east, covers 34 ares halfway up the slope between 270 and 280 meters in altitude. It consists of two-thirds of vines aged 70 years and one-third aged 35 years. Acquired in 1999, the vineyard underwent significant work to encourage the root system to rediscover the mineral depth of the soil. Located a few kilometers further south than other crus, the plot is always harvested two or three days earlier. This grand cru has a noticeably different expression compared to other cuvées of the domain situated in the Côte de Nuits. The more tender, more weathered marly limestones of the Oxfordian, which form the soil's base, add to the wine harmonious and polished tannins, along with good acidity.
