Named after the lieu-dit La Ciaude, this magnificent cuvée is the result of a harmonious blend of three grape varieties, thriving on a grand terroir of clay-limestone soils exposed to the full southern sun. The dazzling white limestone of Agel contributes to wines brimming with vibrant energy, enhanced by meticulous aging in barrels to achieve a superbly silky texture, coupled with concentration and a mineral persistence of exquisite finesse. This magical alliance of scorching sunlight and cool soils, where the vines draw their water reserves from deep below, fosters early and consistent ripening, balanced by refreshing acidity.

The terroir comprises 0.50 hectares of 12-year-old Grenache, 1.30 hectares of 25-year-old Syrah, 0.80 hectares of Carignan planted in 1904, and 0.50 hectares of 50-year-old Carignan, representing a fusion of earth and sky. Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo total de-stemming in the Burgundian style, followed by ageing in a blend of 80% oak barrels and 20% stainless steel vats. This cuvée, boasting a deep red hue, epitomizes the marriage of land and sky, offering a wine of profound depth, complexity, and elegance.

Minervois

Renowned Burgundian winemaker Anne Gros, along with her husband Jean-Paul Tollot, embarked on a Languedoc adventure in 2007, acquiring vineyards on clay-limestone and sandstone soils in Cazelles, at the crossroads of Minervois and Saint-Chinian appellations.

Their inaugural vintage in 2008 marked the beginning of a journey that swiftly positioned their estate as a major player in Minervois.

Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot's collaboration brings forth a unique approach, blending their expertise with the terroirs of Languedoc, particularly in the Causse region of Minervois.

With a meticulous focus on vineyard cultivation and grape sensitivity, they craft exceptional cuvées that showcase the distinctiveness of each terroir.

Their estate spans three distinct terroirs: Cote du Brian, Minervois, and Minervois Cazelles. Embracing varietals like Carignan, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and Marselan, thriving in clay-limestone, marl, and sandstone soils, Gros and Tollot offer a portfolio boasting cuvées like 50/50, La Ciaude, and Les Combettes, each exuding character and finesse.
