Named after the lieu-dit Les Fontanilles, this cuvée is a blend of four grape varieties cultivated on predominantly sandstone soils with north and west orientations in Assignan. Nestled within small enclosed vineyards surrounded by scrubland, pine trees, thyme, rosemary, and cistus, this wine encapsulates the essence of its terroir. With 1.60 hectares of 22-year-old Syrah, 1.45 hectares of 50-year-old Carignan, 1.20 hectares of 50-year-old Cinsault, and 2.50 hectares of 22-year-old Grenache, each grape variety contributes its distinct characteristics, ranging from fruitiness and freshness to mouthfeel sweetness, depth, length, distinction, and energy. Harvested manually, the grapes undergo total destemming in the Burgundian style, followed by ageing in a blend of 50% oak barrels and 50% stainless steel vats. The resulting wine, boasting a deep red hue, showcases the vibrancy and complexity of its terroir, offering a sensory experience that is both dynamic and refined.

Domaine Anne Gros &

Jean Paul Tollot

Minervois

Renowned Burgundian winemaker Anne Gros, along with her husband Jean-Paul Tollot, embarked on a Languedoc adventure in 2007, acquiring vineyards on clay-limestone and sandstone soils in Cazelles, at the crossroads of Minervois and Saint-Chinian appellations.

Their inaugural vintage in 2008 marked the beginning of a journey that swiftly positioned their estate as a major player in Minervois.

Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot's collaboration brings forth a unique approach, blending their expertise with the terroirs of Languedoc, particularly in the Causse region of Minervois.

With a meticulous focus on vineyard cultivation and grape sensitivity, they craft exceptional cuvées that showcase the distinctiveness of each terroir.

Their estate spans three distinct terroirs: Cote du Brian, Minervois, and Minervois Cazelles. Embracing varietals like Carignan, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and Marselan, thriving in clay-limestone, marl, and sandstone soils, Gros and Tollot offer a portfolio boasting cuvées like 50/50, La Ciaude, and Les Combettes, each exuding character and finesse.
